Designing Streets for Pedestrians and Bicyclists
Workshop Description
Designing Streets for Pedestrians and Bicyclists is a highly visual, hands-on
workshop, teaching general walkway and street design, design details for the disables, and
the nuts and bolts of safe street crossings, including mid-block crossings, medians,
islands, and intersection design. The workshop also looks at special cases, including
transit stops, driveways, alleys, and teaches traffic calming and roundabouts.
The first two days of the workshop are dedicated to pedestrian issues with the last day
emphasizing designing facilities for bicyclists.

If you are an engineer, planner, architect, citizen, elected official, law
enforcement officer, or developer who wnats to know how to design streets that encourage
walking and cibycling, this three-day workshop is a must!

Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices
Workshop Description
This workshop familiarizes engineers and technicians with the Manual of Uniform
Traffic Control Devices. It covers sign usage on highways, local roads and city streets,
traffic signals, school zones, pavement markings, grade crossings, and bicycle facilities.
Who Should Attend
Technicians and field personnel who deal with traffic control devices, and
anyone whose job involves following the standards set by the MUTCD.
