Strategic Plan
|

|
| |
| For many people, streets and highways are the most visible evidence of their tax
dollars at work. But today's belt-tightening climate means less money is available to fund
highway construction and maintenance. The result: highway agencies are being asked to do
more with less. The role of the Nevada T2 Center therefore is more important
than ever. It provides real world examples of how new ways of building and maintaining
roadways can pay off for local highway departments and improve safety and services for the
driving public.
To achieve the greatest success in fulfilling its role, the Center has developed a
strategic plan. One that helps the Center assess how it can best meet the needs of its
customers-the state's highway personnel.
The strategic plan precisely defines the Center's primary goals and plans of action. |
| Goals |
- Deliver and diversify relevant quality customer services
- Use new technologies and approaches to deliver training
- Communicate the Center's value to its partners and customers
- Obtain necessary funding to meet the Center's goals
|
| Actions |
Each of the specific actions supports one or more of the four Nevada T2
Center goals.
- Identify priority needs of local road and highway agencies
- Adapt services to meet local training needs
- Expose training workshop participants to practical applications of technological
innovations
- Promote compact disk interactive training
- Use NDOT teleconferencing facilities (in Carson City, Elko, Las Vegas, Reno, and
Winnemucca) for training
- Develop Nevada T2 Center Web Page
- Organize meetings with current and potential partners
- Identify factors affecting customer nonparticipation
- Develop marketing strategies that promotes the success of the Center, attracts new
partners and customers, and educates elected officials about the Center's benefits to the
state
- Develop documentation to support value of T2 Center programs
- Pursue private-sector funding
